Registration of new vehicles, licence renewals only through e-services

MOI:

The General Directorate of Traffic announced on Monday that the registration of new vehicles would only be done through e-services and this particular service would no longer be available at post offices from May 1 for the vehicles that are not subject to a technical inspection.

The driving licences could also be renewed only electronically and would be delivered by post. The technical examination fee will stand cancelled and therefore the registration of a vehicle could be finalised immediately through a phone application, the Kiosk or the e-Government portal.

The directorate said that other services would continue through the post offices, the traffic headquarters and the affiliated traffic centres in the governorates.

The directorate affirmed its keenness to improve and facilitate the e-services in cooperation with the e-Government. The department has also reduced the vehicle registration fee for the drivers above 60 and they can finalise their applications online.
