His Excellency Interior Minister Lt-General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa received German Ambassador Sabine Taufmann today.

During the meeting, HE the Minister praised the strong Bahraini-German ties in all fields and called for enhancing the bilateral cooperation further.

The Ambassador praised the Kingdom's outstanding success in holding the F1 race. She also lauded the civilised manner in which the Bahraini police force had been dealing with the latest incidents, which, she said, was reflected in the security during F1, which was highly appreciated worldwide.

The Ambassador strongly condemned and denounced the attacks targeting policemen, including those threatening their lives, noting that the international media had not been projecting the real and civilised image of the Kingdom.

She affirmed that the German community in Bahrain enjoyed security and safety and wished Bahrain further security, stability and progress. The meeting also touched upon issues of mutual concern. Inspector-General Major-General Ibrahim Habib Al Ghaith also attended.
