Ministry of Interior Undersecretary for Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs Shaikh Rashid bin Khalifa Al Khalifa has said that the General Directorate for Nationality, Passports and Residence (GDNPR) constantly seeks to facilitate procedures relating to the issuance of work permits and visit visas to foreign nationals in cooperation and coordination with the relevant authorities in the Kingdom.
He said the Directorate did not have any objection to the renewal of residence permits of expatriates living in the Kingdom or allowing them to move from one employer to another in compliance with the law even when they are banned from travelling following judicial orders from the Ministry of Justice as a result of their indebtedness to others. He said that 200 applications had been processed so far for this purpose since the beginning of the year.
He affirmed the Directorate's keenness to facilitate procedures for foreign nationals and invited all expatriates, who had applied for the regularisation of their status after being banned from leaving the country following court orders, to visit the Public Relations Department in order to fulfil the procedures and follow up the case by phoning 17399764 or sending an email to PublicRelations@gdnpr.gov.bh
