Man and child injured as thugs attack police in Dair

MOI:

The General Director of the Muharraq Governorate Police announced on Thursday that a man and his child were injured unintentionally when police officers, under assault by thugs with metal rods and Molotov cocktails, were trying to clear an intersection in Dair. Steps have been taken to send the child abroad for medical treatment.

The General Director said that a gang of thugs blocked the entrance to a village and began to assault police with Molotov cocktails and other weapons. When warned by police to disperse, the thugs continued their assault and the former had to take appropriate and necessary steps to disperse the crowd. An investigation has been launched to determine how the man and his child were injured in the process.

The General Director reminded the public that vandals and rioters who engaged in such violent behaviour endangered the lives of innocent citizens. Earlier this week two persons died as a result of injuries when Molotov cocktails were thrown at an expat's house and a bomb exploded when a person tried to remove a tyre left burning in the middle of a highway.
