Nine policemen were run over by a car on Tuesday in a criminal act committed by one of the rioters in Nuwaidrat.

The Director-General of the Central Governorate Police said the crime was committed while the security forces were dealing with a group of rioters. One of them sustained a head injury and on seeing this, his brother got into his car and ran over the policemen. Four of the policemen were seriously injured, while five escaped with various injuries. The car driver also sustained injuries and all were taken to hospital.

The Director-General said that legal procedures have been taken and the military prosecutor notified.
