MOI:

The Assistant Undersecretary for Legal Affairs affirmed on Tuesday that the Ministry of Interior’s committed to protect freedoms, especially the right to perform religious rituals and take out and hold related processions and meetings according to the traditions followed in the Kingdom, and to provide a congenial atmosphere to practise those rituals.

He said that the small groups that security forces dealt with on Sunday were groups that misused a religious occasion, engaged in riots and acts of vandalism and blocked roads which are illegal activities that need to be dealt through legal procedures.

He said that ma’atam officials should remain committed to the spirit of any religious occasion.
