A murder investigation has been launched after a 29-year-old man died following a fight outside a pub in Dundee.

The incident occurred outside the Maltman in Mains Road, Dundee, at about 23:00.

Police were called to the scene by the Scottish Ambulance Service who were treating a man who had been injured in an assault.

He was taken to Ninewells Hospital, where he later died of his injuries.

Officers closed the pub and part of Mains Road, both of which were being treated as crime scenes.

Tayside Police have appealed for anyone who saw a fight outside the pub to contact them.
