CID organises seminar to mark the International Day Against Trafficking in Persons

Under the patronage of the Chief of Public Security, Lt-General Tariq Al Hassan, the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science, has held a virtual seminar on Bahrain and its anti-human trafficking efforts. The event was held to mark the International Day Against Trafficking in Persons.

The seminar was managed by the Director-General of Media and Security Culture Brigadier Mohammed Bin Diana. It attracted experts from inside and outside Bahrain.

The Chief conveyed the greetings and best wishes of His Excellency Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa. He congratulated His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister and HE Interior Minister for the international achievement of Bahrain in maintaining its Tier 1 ranking in the US Department of State Trafficking in Persons (TiP) Report.

He highlighted that the accomplishments of Bahrain are part of the directives of HM the King and his dedication to reinforce equality and human rights for all citizens and residents without discrimination. Various entities, including the Interior Ministry, are promoting such directives, he added, hailing the dedication of the Kingdom in fighting human trafficking crimes.  

The Chief thanked the members of the National Anti-Trafficking Committee from various government and civic organisations and the Anti-Human Trafficking Directorate for fighting such crimes.

At the beginning of the seminar, Brigadier Bin Daina thanked the Chief for his remarks that summarised the Kingdom’s human trafficking combating efforts. He highlighted that the Kingdom’s accomplishments represent the success in fighting such crimes.

He said that the national achievements were part of the directives of HM the King and the endless support of HRH Crown Prince and Prime Minister to safeguard human rights as part of the culture of the community.

He asserted that the Interior Ministry continues to promote human rights based on the protection of security and stability per the directives of HE Interior Minister. Such efforts had made anti-human trafficking a foundation for the national security system.

The seminar included various papers and discussions to promote human trafficking combating efforts.
