The city of King Khalid University in Abha, which aims to serve students and society in the cities of southern Saudi Arabia, is a huge educational project that includes several colleges, hospitals and playgrounds. Twenty tow projects have been completed, while nine others are still ongoing. The city has nine main gates for the entry of students and employees. There are two power stations and tunnels with a length of 14 km to deliver services to all buildings, in addition to car parks and a pedestrian bridge. The city also includes administrative buildings, a centre for conferences, celebrations, exhibitions, a theatre, an English language centre and a central library for the benefit of students and all members of society. The academic complex includes several theoretical, practical and health colleges, including: the College of Business, Humanities, Education, Sharia, Languages and Translation, and Sciences. The initiative of King Khalid University, represented by the Deanship of E-Learning, achieved fourth place in the best open educational source project, in the global competition (Open education Global award 2022), in the Open Curation / Repository branch, which was implemented by the (Open Education Global) organization. This is a non-profit organization in the field of open educational resources, and this initiative is one of the important initiatives of the Deanship of E-Learning, and aims to develop courses and convert them into open courses according to international quality standards for electronic courses, to make scientific content available to all. This experience came with the aim of embodying the development courses and converting them into video files open to the community in general via YouTube and courses based on the learning management system (blackboard), which consist of the course in a video form in addition to activities, assignments, short tests, a question bank, discussion forums and other tools that ensure student interaction, and break the barrier of space and time The courses are built according to the best effective educational strategies. The initiative aims to design educational experiences that meet the different requirements of learners and contribute to successful learning experiences, by designing an integrated electronic course in terms of content and built according to quality standards, to serve the faculty member and student alike, and to share the content inside and outside the university through the university’s educational platforms and Qanawat platforms. A video is available as YouTube, which contributes to spreading and increasing knowledge and skill, supporting creativity and leadership in developing courses and producing interesting and useful ones. The channel has more than 400,000 subscribers and has achieved 60 million views, including more than 8,000 educational videos.
