43 FEBRUARY 2023 in Doha when the Bahrain team won over the Saudi team. This was Shaikh Isa’s dream for a long time. He joined the Faculty of Law of Ain Shams University, graduated in 1963, and was appointed on November 2, 1963 in the Bahrain Courts as a judge. Then, in 1968, he moved to the Bahrain Defence Force as a legal advisor, then Deputy Commander-in- Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force, then Undersecretary of the Ministry of Defence. He was later appointed Undersecretary of the Ministry of Information in 1968. In 1987, he was appointed president of the National Council for Culture, Arts and Letters for his literary, poetic and cultural efforts and contributions. His relationship with sports began when he was young and he loved voluntary administrative work and was devoted to it. His love for sports was like his love for the homeland and his fame and popularity extended beyond the borders of the country. His personality made athletes rally around him, and he had his own style of dialogue and speech where he was diplomatic and able to face any situation and overcome it. One may find someone who disagreed withhim,butyouwillnotfindsomeone who did not like him. Gulf athletes called His Excellency the Dean of Gulf athletes and he was known for his close relations with various Gulf and Arab sports leaders whose fruits were reflected positively on Bahraini sports. He had a strong relationship with the late His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Fahd Al Saud and Sheikh Fahd Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, and he would not leave an occasion without mentioning these two personalities, and the challenges that take place between him and them that do not exceed the spirit of sports. • He was appointed Vice President of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports in 1999. • He was appointed president of the General Organization for Youth and Sports, with the rank of minister, from 1988 to 1999. • He was president of the Bahrain Club and the Bahraini Football Association when he was elected on November 9, 1974 by the federation’s general assembly, and continued to preside over the federation until September 1988. • He was President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee when it was established in November 1979. • At the Arab level, he held the position of Vice President of the Arab Federation for Sports Games, Vice President of the Arab Football Association, Chairman of the Media Committee of the Arab Sports Federation, Chairman of the Media Committee of the Arab Football Association, Member of the International Relations Committee of the Arab Football Association and Chairman of the Advertising and Marketing Committee of the Arab Federation for sports and a member of the International Relations Committee of the Federation. • He was a member of the International Sports Arbitration Committee of the International Olympic Committee. • He received several honours and awards, including the Sheikh Isa bin Salman Medal of the First Class, the Bahrain Medal of the First Class, the National Defence Medal from the State of Kuwait, the Silver Medal from the International Olympic Committee, the Golden Olympic Excellence Medal, and the Platinum Medal. • Recently, the book (Adornment in Your Memory) was published by Miracle Publishing Corporation, which documented the biography of the late, God willing, His Excellency Sheikh Isa bin Rashid Al Khalifa, may God have mercy on him, full of giving, achievement, and service to the nation.
