It helps develop the standards of professional journalism in Jordan and the region, by providing all its graduates with skills and knowledge that qualify them to develop the level of media production in the Arab world through targeted programmes. These are based on intensive practical training, innovative educational curricula and modern equipment. It aspires to keep its unique and locally-developed programmes in line with the highest international standards in line with its philosophy and the ancient Arab culture, and to prepare and train students to rise to the ranks of international journalists, endowed with the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in the unique media environment in the region. The institute is committed to maintaining the highest standards of journalism education and prepares its students for the labour market by focussing on accuracy and the need to adhere to the professional and ethical standards of journalism to enable them to enter the labor market armed with the necessary experience and integrity, and the latest equipment and training programmes for modern media. This opens the way for it to keep up with the challenges of the times. The distinguished master’s programme and intensive training seeks to advance excellence in journalism education, develop the skills of new and experienced journalists, introduce practical and realistic teaching methods to the region, promote serious journalism based on research and accuracy, and establish respect for professional and ethical standards of journalism. Among the most important conditions for applying to enroll in a master’s programme is that the applicant has a bachelor’s degree in any branch of knowledge with a grade of no less than “good” or its equivalent from a university or scientific institute recognized by the university. The Institute offers three types of training courses and workshops - courses offered periodically, courses that are announced upon request and according to the availability of sufficient numbers, and courses implemented by the Institute as part of the projects it is working on with its partners.
