Through the Gulf Traffic Week, the importance of traffic awareness is highlighted and this is presented through various means to provide drivers with the necessary information that would correct their wrong driving behaviour and reduce traffic accidents that are caused by violating traffic rules, which claim people’s lives, besides c a u s i n g disabilities, impairments and material losses. Traffic awareness methods differ during the Gulf Traffic Week and take on a special character that is popular with all those in the GCC through programmes that focus on awareness in which all segments of society participate. During the week, there are lectures, seminars, mini-traffic villages and honouring ideal drivers, during which pamphlets are distributed to road users and awareness is spread on all media and social media platforms. On this occasion, the role of the traffic policeman stands out through his tireless work to make the road safer for users, as well as the cooperation between him and the road users. This is the thought carried by the Gulf Traffic Week through all its activities of community partnership, which represents a cornerstone of any security strategy. Traffic policemen do what their duties dictate to them with full transparency and professionalism, but this is not complete without constructive cooperation with civil society. Therefore, the Gulf Traffic Week is an occasion in which we thank all road users for their positive cooperation in achieving integrated community partnership with the traffic police, which is in the interest of security and safety on the road and the continuation of development work to achieve the public interest and traffic achievements. This distinguishes Bahraini society from awareness represented in the concepts of traffic safety instilled by parents in partnership with the General Directorate of Traffic to preserve their safety. Let us affirm that the Gulf Traffic Week is an opportunity to spread awareness and traffic culture to all road users and an opportunity to emphasize the importance of adhering to the rules that have been set for the safety of users, through awareness and guidance contents.
