MARCH 2023 32 FLYING ulf Aviation Academy (GAA) was set up in Bahrain in 2010 as the first such independent entity in the Arab Gulf region that is not affiliated with an airline. It is one of the few European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) - approved training centres in the region. The academy has obtained accreditation certificates from the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council and offers a wide range of high-quality training courses to serve the industry in the Middle East and North Africa. It is also accredited as a regional training centre by the International Air Transport Association and the International Civil Aviation Organization. The academy training facilities include simulators for Airbus A320 and Airbus A330, besides emergency evacuation training facilities, cabin service, and air traffic control simulators.
