Jassim Muhammad Al- Ghatam inaugurated a Maritime Safety Course held at the Maritime Training Centre. The commander said the course is to activate the principle of community partnership and within the framework of cooperation between the Coast Guard Command and the Bahrain Petroleum Company (Bapco) to raise the efficiency of its employees, and upgrade the cadres to carry out their tasks well and provide security and safety for members of society. He explained that the two-week course is divided into two phases. The first phase is the theoretical phase and includes materials for personal safety and social responsibilities, personal methods of survival at sea, and the principles of first aid. The second phase is the practical phase and includes first aid, ship firefighting, rubber boat and lifebuoy. The Department of Health and Social Affairs at the Ministry of Interior rose to the platinum level of the Canadian Accreditation Certificate for Health Services and has moved to second level after achieving the first gold level during the last survey in 2019. This is in implementation of the directives of His Excellency the Minister of Interior to raise the level of medical services provided to employees of the Ministry and, the follow-up of His Excellency the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Interior, and the supervision and implementation of the Director of the Health and Social Affairs Department, the staff of the Total Quality Office and the concerned teams. Director of the Health and Social Affairs Department Lieutenant Colonel Fatima Omar said this achievement comes due to a wise and thoughtful plan, effort and determination to achieve the goal. She said the department was able to obtain a certificate of accreditation for the quality of health services from the Canadian Council three times in a row. C
