HISTORY A mid the global turmoil and the constant stream of images depicting violence and conflict in the name of religion, Bahrain stands as a beacon of peace and harmony. This small but remarkable nation is a true oasis of tranquility, where its multicultural and multi- religious society has thrived together for centuries. The Thattai Bhatias, originally from Sind (now part of Pakistan), were among the first expatriate communities to settle in Bahrain, establishing business ventures long before the discovery of oil. Over time, they made Bahrain their home, with their families joining them as well. Since they were known for their strict lifestyle, permission was granted for establishing a temple in the name of Shrinathji, the childhood form of Shri Krishna – thus, the present temple in Manama has a history dating An oas i s of t ranqui l i ty 200- year -o l d temp l e symbo l of Bahrai n ’ s re l i gi ous to l erance
