The maritime patrols of the Coast Guard arrested four Asians and seized their boat after attempting to flee the scene while shrimping during the shrimp- catching ban. The boat was observed near the King Fahad Causeway, and the patrols requested that the fishermen stop for inspection. The fishermen attempted to collide with them to escape. The patrols successfully stopped them and seized prohibited trawling nets. Legal proceedings were taken, and the case was referred to the Public Prosecution. The Coast Guard called upon seafarers to adhere to the maritime patrol›s instructions when asked to stop for inspection. They should also follow rules related to fishing bans and prohibited fishing items. Fishermen should also follow procedures to prevent overfishing, illegal fishing, and unorganised fishing to protect marine life.
