SECURITY is Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, met with His Excellency General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, the Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Ministerial Committee for Information and Communication Technology, at Gudaibiya Palace. His Royal Highness highlighted the importance of Bahrain’s continued advancement of its communications and information technology sector, underscoring its role in driving the government’s digital transformation and contributing to the Kingdom’s comprehensive development, led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister highlighted Bahrain’s ongoing adoption of strategic projects to improve public services and integrate digital solutions across various government sectors. HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad commended the Ministerial Committee for Information and Communication Technology, under the leadership of the Minister of Interior, for its efforts in accelerating digital transformation across government services and overseeing the implementation of key initiatives, including the recently launched new identity cards, the Innovation Lab, and the self- service centre. His Royal Highness also noted the importance of developing policies, plans and programmes that drive digital transformation, focusing on continuous monitoring and evaluation to enhance government services and deliver long- term benefits to citizens. For his part, His Excellency reaffirmed Bahrain’s commitment to adopting innovative digital technologies and securing government services, in line with the Kingdom’s comprehensive development goals under the leadership of His Majesty the King and the support of His Royal Highness the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. His Excellency expressed thanks and appreciation for His Royal Highness, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister’s support in advancing government services. HE Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, the Minister of Finance and National Economy, and HE Hamad bin Faisal Al Malki, the Minister of Cabinet Affairs, and Mohammed Ali Al Qaed, Chief Executive of the Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA), also attended the meeting.
