Following the reception, the two sides held a negotiation session, in which HE the Interior Minister welcomed his Omani counterpart and the accompanying delegation. He praised the fraternal visit, which reflects the depth of the firm and longstanding relations between the two brotherly countries and peoples, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, the Sultan of Oman. His Excellency the Interior Minister emphasised that the accelerating security challenges facing the region call for continued cooperation, enhanced joint work mechanisms, and further strengthening of the security partnership between the two countries. He highlighted the importance of the Security Cooperation Agreement between the Governments of Bahrain and Oman. He praised the high level of coordination between the two sides in combating transnational organised crime. On his part, the Omani Minister of Interior commended the deep-rooted and distinguished brotherly relations between Oman and Bahrain, affirming the two countries’ keenness to continue strengthening cooperation in all fields, particularly in security. He underlined the importance of mutual visits among brotherly countries to enhance security coordination, unify joint stands, and confront current and future security challenges. He emphasised the importance of collective efforts to counter all negative phenomena resulting from various forms of crime. During the meeting, the two sides discussed several key security topics as part of efforts to reinforce cooperation and coordination in the security field, and to build on the achievements of their joint efforts aimed at enhancing performance in the face of emerging regional and international challenges. At the conclusion of the session, both sides exchanged commemorative gifts. The visiting minister also wrote a message in the visitors’ book, expressing his delight at visiting the Interior Ministry and meeting with HE the Interior Minister to discuss ways to further strengthen relations between the two countries in a manner that serves mutual interests and fulfils the aspirations of their leaderships and peoples.
