SECURITY is Excellency the Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Ministerial Committee for Information and Communication Technology, General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa attended a ceremony to honour organisations and individuals who won the 13th edition of the eGovernment Excellence Award 2025. This is part of the “Digital Excellence and Government Innovation” initiative, coinciding with the celebration of 30 years of connecting Bahrain to the Internet. Ministers, senior officials, experts and those interested in the information and communications technology sector attended the event.  Speaking on the occasion, His Excellency said this reflects the levels of development and digital milestones achieved by Bahrain and its clear role in supporting the comprehensive development process, under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa. “I express my sincere pride in the royal directives to utilise modern technology and enhance the service of society, and I commend the support and follow-up of the esteemed government, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and his constant interest in constructive initiatives to develop government performance,” he said. “It is suitable, as we celebrate the winning digital projects, to also mark the 30th anniversary of H Three decades of exce l l ence I nternet has changed d i gi t a l l andscape H .
