H is Excellency the Minister of Interior General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa received the Omani Director General of Customs Brigadier Saeed bin Khamis Al Ghaithi and the Executive Director of the GCC Customs Union Authority, Dr. Suleiman bin Masoud Al Ghafri, in the presence of the President of Customs, Shaikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Khalifa. His Excellency welcomed the Gulf officials on the sidelines of their participation in the First International Border Management and Technology Middle East Summit, organised by the Interior Ministry. He praised the close fraternal relations between the two brotherly countries and the level of cooperation and coordination aimed at strengthening joint work, benefiting from expertise, and exchanging best training practices in a way that serves their shared interests. He also commended the vital role of the GCC Customs Union Authority in supporting the course of joint economic action among GCC states, and its efforts in launching joint customs projects within the framework of unifying customs procedures and policies among member states, thereby contributing to increasing intra-GCC trade. For their part, the two officials expressed their gratitude and appreciation to HE the Interior Minister for his commitment to enhancing communication and coordination, and for opening up further avenues of cooperation to continually improve the level of customs services.
