SPORT W ith the curtain closing at the Third Asian Youth Games - Bahrain 2025, Bahrain bid farewell to an exceptional continental sporting event that will remain a milestone in its modern sports history, having achieved unparalleled success in hosting a version that was described as “the most successful and largest in the history of Asian Youth Games”. This was held under the royal patronage that gave the event a solemn national and organizational dimension, which embodied Bahrain’s capabilities and efficiency in managing major sporting events at the continental and global levels. The activities concluded with a grand ceremony held in the Khalifa Sports City Hall, in the presence of high-level officials, including His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Authority for Sports, and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee. Later, there was a ceremony of handing over the flag of the tournament to the next host country - Uzbekistan, which will organize the fourth edition of the continental event. The ceremony was preceded by an expanded press conference, with the participation of a group of Asian sports leaders led by the Secretary-General of the Bahrain Olympic Committee Fares Al-Kohji, the First Vice- President of the Olympic Council of Asia Timothy Vuk Tsun Ting, the Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Games Yousef Duaij, the Director General of the Olympic Council of Asia, Hussein Al-Muslim, and the Deputy Director General of the Council, Vinod Kumar. In the halls of Umm Al-Hassam Sports, the Gulf fans lived one of the most exciting matches in the tournament, where the Saudi team took the gold medal in youth handball after defeating Kuwait 29-28 in a strong and equal final until the last moments, while Bahrain won the bronze medal after its deserved victory over China with a score of 32-28 amid a distinctive atmosphere.
