BRIEFS U nder the patronage of the Director General of Verdict Enforcement and Alternative Sentencing, Shaikh Khalid bin Rashid Al Khalifa, the directorate organised the “Children of Tomorrow” event for the children of beneficiaries of alternative sentencing programme, in celebration of World Children’s Day. The event was held at the Open Prisons Complex. The Director General said organising this event comes as part of the interest and follow-up of His Excellency the Minister of Interior General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa in strengthening family bonds and supporting children as they form an essential part of the family stability system for individuals benefiting from alternative sentencing programme. The event witnessed a large turnout of children and their families, with more than 400 attendees of various ages. It featured a range of recreational and educational activities, along with competitions that created a joyful atmosphere and enhanced positive interaction among the children, contributing to achieving the humanitarian and social objectives of the initiative. Parents expressed their appreciation for this step, which reflects the directorate’s commitment to supporting the family aspects of beneficiaries and providing an enabling environment that promotes family stability and community integration. At the conclusion of the event, the Director General emphasised that the “Children of Tomorrow” initiative comes within the directorate’s efforts to support social initiatives and strengthen community partnership. Muharraq Governor Salman Bin Hindi Al Mannai, in the presence of Deputy Muharraq Governor Brigadier General Jassim Mohammed Al Ghattam, received several governorate’s employees on their obtaining their master’s degrees in their respective professional fields from the Royal Academy of Police and affiliated to the University of Huddersfield in the United Kingdom. The Governor praised their research papers, which will enrich knowledge and improve services for citizens and residents. He emphasised that the governorate’s approach is based on scientific principles in developing services, especially community and public services. The employees expressed their sincere thanks and appreciation to the Governor for honouring and encouraging them.
