He noted that this plan was prepared in cooperation with the General Directorate of Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs, where all lanes were opened and special lanes were allocated for pilgrims, entry and exit procedures were facilitated, and assistance was provided to pilgrims facing health problems. He also spoke of the involvement of the General Directorate of Traffic, where traffic was organized on the bridge, lanes were allocated for buses carrying pilgrims, and coordination with the security authorities on the Saudi side to facilitate entry and exit. He also said the General Directorate of Civil Defence role, whose personnel were present at pilgrims’ rest points to provide medical and first aid assistance, in addition to providing advice and guidance to them, and dealing with any emergency situations. He indicated that the number of pilgrims departing through Bahrain’s ports this year was 4,431 pilgrims, with 2,834 departing from Bahrain International Airport and 1,507 departing via King Fahd Causeway.
