BRIEFS T he Deputy Chief of Public Security, Major General Shaikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, headed Bahrain’s delegation participating in the first meeting of the Joint Supreme Committee for the GCC Joint Security Tactical Exercise (Arabian Gulf Security 4), held in Qatar. The meeting reviewed the agenda, which included an assessment of the outcomes and lessons learned from the previous exercise, with a focus on building upon the achievements made. The discussions also covered preparations, logistical arrangements, and committee plans for the upcoming exercise, as well as presenting current security challenges and threat scenarios, along with strategies for addressing them to strengthen joint cooperation, promote the exchange of expertise and experiences among the participating GCC member states, and contribute to the overall success of the exercise. Top regi ona l securi ty meet i n Qat ar Cooperat i on on drug cont ro l He l d for mi sus i ng soci a l med i a The Director of the Anti-Narcotics Directorate at the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science, Lt Col Mohammed Khalid Al-Buainain, along with the accompanying delegation, took part in the 37th meeting of drug control authorities directors from the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states. The meeting was held at the GCC Secretariat General headquarters in Riyadh from June 25 and 26. Participants discussed ways to strengthen joint cooperation and coordination in combating drug-related crimes, sharing expertise, and enhancing both preventive and security efforts across GCC countries.  The General Directorate of Anti-Corruption and Economic and Electronic Security has said the Anti-Cyber Crimes Directorate arrested three individuals for misusing social media and engaging in illegal activities by posting content that violates moral values. The Director General of Anti-Corruption and Economic and Electronic Security stated that such acts are penalised by law and violate societal values. He said that legal proceedings would be taken against anyone who misuses social media to protect general order and community values.
