is Excellency the Minister of Interior General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Chairman of the Ministerial Committee for the Follow-up on the National Plan to Promote the Spirit of Belonging to the Nation and Reinforce the Values of Patriotism, received Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Emirates Centre for Strategic Studies and Research (ECSSR), Dr. Jamal Sanad Al-Suwaidi. The meeting was attended by the Interior Ministry Undersecretary, Shaikh Nasser bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, and the Secretary-General of the Arab Forum for Thought and Culture, Fawaz Ahmed Suleiman. His Excellency welcomed the official and commended the role of research institutions in presenting outstanding studies that support the development of security approaches and formulating policing strategies to address security challenges constructively. During the meeting, Dr. Al-Suwaidi presented His Excellency with a copy of his latest publication, «National Identity in the United Arab Emirates: Between the Uniqueness of Values and the Universality of Standards.» This research contributes positively to the subject of national identity amid the globalisation challenges. His Excellency expressed appreciation for the valuable gift, highlighting the importance of establishing frameworks to preserve national values and ethical standards, particularly in addressing challenges related to the use of artificial intelligence applications. He also stressed the need to intensify research efforts in this domain and proactively shape new legislation to keep pace with modern technologies. He praised Dr. Al-Suwaidi’s distinguished intellectual contributions, extensive experience in political and strategic studies and scientific research, notable publications, and analytical reports. He also commended the ECSSR as a vital intellectual platform offering specialised studies and advanced scientific insights. Dr. Al-Suwaidi expressed his appreciation to His Excellency for his support of research institutions and their role in advancing scientific and academic contributions.
