SECURITY s part of its commitment to adhering to traffic laws and rules, the Ministry of Interior celebrated the GCC Traffic Week 2025, on the theme «Driving without a Phone.» During this time, several events and activities were organized to raise community awareness and disseminate traffic safety concepts to protect lives and property. Instilling a traffic culture General Directorate of Traffic Director General Major General Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Abdulwahab Al Khalifa said the Traffic Week is an important occasion to remind citizens and residents of the importance of traffic safety and has been a vital milestone for more than 30 years. He thanked and praised the commitment of Bahrain’s drivers to traffic laws, which reflects the civilized image of Bahrain. He said the role of parents in instilling a traffic culture in their children and maintaining their safety is of paramount importance and emphasized the need to continue this approach to raise future generations capable of assuming responsibility. He said the occasion underscores the close relationship between road users and traffic officers, who work side by side to promote traffic safety to protect lives and property, which reflects true community partnership and contributes to strengthening the national sense of safety to achieve the desired safety. He said within the framework of community partnership between traffic officers and all sectors of civil society, the General Directorate of Traffic continues to implement specialized awareness and training programmes in the field of safe driving, targeting vehicle and motorcycle drivers.
