Several Ministry of Interior departments participated with a pavilion at the Bahrain International Circuit, which witnessed a large turnout of visitors. The Information and eGovernment Authority, the General Directorate of Traffic, the General Directorate of Civil Defence, the General Directorate of Implementation of Sentences and Alternative Penalties, the Public Relations Directorate, the Operations Directorate at the Public Security Presidency, the Child Cyber Protection Unit, and the Police Canine Unit showcased their most prominent tasks and technical and awareness initiatives, spreading security and community awareness. They also highlighted their modern technical projects and advanced devices that contribute to improving performance and providing high-level services in terms of speed and efficiency. The mechanisms and vehicles used to maintain national security and community safety were also on display. Enhancing security and safety Al-Amn highlighted the efforts of several Ministry departments and sectors and spoke about their high level of preparedness, taking measures, and plans that contributed to providing the ideal atmosphere for the success of the global sporting event. Brigadier Ali Mohammed Al- Kubaisi, Director General of the General Directorate of Civil Defence, said: “In light of Bahrain hosting the largest global motor racing event, plans were been put in place.” He said a strategy to enhance security and safety, in cooperation with relevant authorities, was developed to achieve the highest levels of preparedness. This included reviewing and approving evacuation and emergency plans prepared by the organizing committee, implementing virtual exercises to deal with emergencies during Formula One races and training staff and volunteers on how to handle emergencies and rapid evacuation. He noted that coordination and work with the relevant departments at the Ministry of Interior were characterized by a team spirit, contributing to the success of the largest international event in Bahrain. He said 110 Civil Defence personnel were deployed to cover events, and four Ford rapid intervention vehicles were deployed at strategic points within and outside the Bahrain International Circuit.
