Traffic Flow Director of the Traffic Culture Department at the General Directorate of Traffic Major Khalid Buqais explained that a comprehensive traffic plan had been developed in cooperation with relevant authorities to ensure smooth traffic flow, facilitate entry and exit to and from the Bahrain International Circuit, and ensure road safety through a heavy traffic presence throughout the three days of the race. He pointed out that traffic patrols had been distributed to fixed and mobile points on the roads leading to and from the circuit. In addition, the directorate›s traffic control room had been set up to monitor traffic on the roads leading to the circuit, equipping patrols and vehicles with equipment and tools, and allocating an office to handle traffic incidents at the circuit. He noted that the General Directorate of Traffic participated in the Ministry of Interior›s pavilion, where the public was introduced to electronic traffic services, a number of awareness films were screened, and the latest vehicles equipped with modern cameras to monitor traffic violations were displayed.
