TRAFFIC T he Dean of Traffic Awareness and traffic expert, our great teacher Abdulaziz Buhaji, has passed away. With his passing, Bahrain has lost a national icon, a beloved social and cultural figure and a voice that conveyed messages of guidance, awareness, and traffic advice. Since joining the police force, may God have mercy on him, he dedicated his professional life to instilling traffic values. Through his striking presence and radio and television career, he built a bridge of trust between traffic officers, citizens, and residents, becoming a symbol of traffic awareness for all segments of society. Throughout his career, which spanned more than 30 years, the deceased contributed to spreading traffic awareness and culture to all generations. His words, phrases, and engaging style resonated with everyone, young and old. Indeed, we can say that his awareness message, which he addressed to the Bahraini public, has reached every home. The deceased played a prominent role since the launch of the Gulf Traffic Weeks in 1984. He contributed his ideas and initiatives to the Traffic Awareness Directors Committee, an offshoot of the GCC Traffic Directors General Committee, transforming and developing the direction and paths of the Gulf Traffic Weeks. These weeks became a clear message to the Gulf community about the essential role they play in preserving lives and property. Regarding his role in awareness-raising work, we always remember the situations and stories he recounted in his engaging style, using his beautiful, popular Bahraini dialect, which was well-received by everyone. His beautiful style, with its distinctive voice and creative approach, as always, resonated with every Bahraini. Personally, as a successor to the late Abdul Aziz Buhaji and the Directors of the Traffic Culture Department who succeeded him, I consider him a role model in his honesty and integrity in his work, his commitment to ensuring traffic safety for all, and his view of traffic awareness as a noble mission that must be performed with sincerity and dedication. In doing so, he instilled these concepts in me, which have become a beacon that guides me and guides me in my work in the field of traffic awareness. In conclusion, may God have mercy on our great forgiver, Abdul Aziz Buhaji, and grant him a spacious place in heaven. May God inspire his family with patience and solace. He never stopped striving and exerting every effort to deliver the awareness message and instill traffic concepts and culture in everyone who listened to him, young and old. He left an indelible mark on the heart of every resident of the good land of the Kingdom of Bahrain. Your memory, may God have mercy on you, will remain engraved in our memories.
