Customs President Shaikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Khalifa affirmed Bahrain’s commitment to strengthening international cooperation and expertise exchange in the customs field to further develop customs and logistics affairs, and to consolidate the Kingdom’s status as a leading regional hub for trade and logistics services. He praised the support provided by the government, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, for customs operations, which enhances their pivotal role in the national economy through effective customs programmes and plans, under the follow-up of His Excellency Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa. This took place on the occasion of the signing of the joint declaration between Bahrain Customs Affairs and the Italian Customs and Monopolies Agency, as part of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister’s official visit to Italy. The Customs President explained that the agreement aims to develop customs risk management systems, enhance the use of modern technologies and artificial intelligence, and advance Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) programmes. It also aims to enhance trade exchange, support the logistics sector, and strengthen oversight to safeguard supply chains against illicit activities. Bahrai n , I t a l y i n Cus toms dea l MOI de l egat i on at Arab Commi t tee meet i ng Dat a course part i ci pant s honoured A delegation from the Interior Ministry, headed by the Director of Administrative Affairs at the Assistant Undersecretary for Legal Affairs’ Office, Brigadier Samer Al Baharna, took part in the fourth meeting of the joint committee of experts and representatives of Arab justice and interior ministries and relevant bodies, held at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Arab League. The meeting discussed the draft Arab model law on protecting children from recruitment in armed conflicts. It also reviewed ways to strengthen regional legal and legislative frameworks to safeguard children’s rights and ensure a safe environment for their upbringing, in addition to enhancing joint Arab efforts in this field in support of international approaches aimed at protecting children’s rights and preventing their exploitation in armed conflicts. Northern Governor Hasan Abdullah Al Madani honoured the Governorate’s staff members who participated in the training course “The Art of Dealing with Data”, in the presence of Najat Mohammed Abdulkarim Al Ansari, Director of Human and Financial Resources, and Amal Isa Bujandal, Director of Information and Follow-up. The Governor praised the contents of the training course, which was delivered by Mr Wael Abdullah Al Fardan, Head of the Information Technology at the Governorate, affirming that organising such specialised programmes reflects the Governorate’s keenness to keep pace with rapid technological developments. This, he stressed, contributes to improving the quality of the work system and enhancing institutional efficiency. He further affirmed the Governorate’s continued commitment to encouraging innovation and organising specialised training courses and workshops that enhance the capabilities of staff and meet the requirements of the current stage. He also commended the efforts of the Information and Follow-up Directorate in organising this course.
