verlooking and ignoring remain a weapon for evading many problems; indeed, they may be the cure itself. Some believe that ignoring implies a kind of passivity and a lack of forward movement, based on the premise that one must forgive, overcome frustrations, and forget or pretend to forget, as long as one believes that tomorrow will be better than today and sees forgiveness as a path and light to a more beautiful tomorrow. Someone might say, “We are human beings, not angels. How can I offer without something in return? How can I forgive those who have frustrated me? And ultimately, how can I forget the wounds and sorrows inflicted upon me by this or that?” Yes, these are legitimate questions that reflect human nature in its entirety, a nature of interests that change in form and content from one person to another and from one generation to the next. However, the language of interests remains powerful... nevertheless, it is essential not to stand still and allow frustrations and sorrows to overwhelm you. And listen to what the famous English playwright William Shakespeare said, “Train yourself to ignore, for not everything said deserves a response.” Be absolutely certain that there are many actions and words that don’t require you to respond or interact. So, stay away and ignore. And if something bad happens to you, be tolerant... Speak little and ignore often, because the noise and talk increase gradually, and its tumult grows louder and louder, and you are not far from that. This doesn’t mean deliberately ignoring others, as much as it means handling situations with wisdom and moderation. We should also refrain from persisting in ignoring and neglecting those around us. This is something the Polish writer Gabriel Laub recognized when he said, “Let us learn from mathematics not to ignore zeros.” b i n d a i n a@b a t e l c o . c om . b h Maj. Gen.
