SECURITY the vote on the Arab identity of Bahrain under the leadership of His Majesty the late Shaikh Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa, and the unprecedented 98.4 per cent vote on the National Action Charter, which marked the launch of the royal reform approach in all national areas. He pointed to the events of 2011, which were not an internal threat but rather a threat from abroad. He praised the wisdom and leadership of His Majesty through his strategic approach to strengthening national confidence, noting that the nation’s youth are currently living in the most prosperous era of their lives. His Excellency highlighted the economic challenge and its increasing importance at this stage and appreciated the directives and follow-up of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister for all development projects and the providing services to citizens. He spoke of the tireless and continuous efforts of the government to develop 44 national programmes, with priorities including health, education, employment, investment legislation and financial services. He said that the Bahraini economy is characterised by diversity and that more than 80 per cent of its resources are non-oil.
