New accred i t at i on for Maan programmes Rad i o show focus on Coas t Guard Securi ng borders for safe t rade The NPRA Undersecretary and Chairman of Maan (together) programme against violence and addiction committee, Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, received two new accreditation certificates for the Artificial Intelligence Management System and the Social Responsibility Framework of the Maan programme. With these additions, the programme has obtained 10 international ISO quality certifications across various fields, reaffirming its commitment to applying the highest professional standards and embedding a culture of comprehensive quality across its preventive and community-based initiatives. During his visit to the Maan Research and Training Centre, he reviewed the programme’s integrated institutional model and the qualitative progress it has achieved in governance, the utilisation of modern technologies, and social responsibility in support of preventive objectives and the enhancement of community security. He commended the advanced level of institutional organisation and adherence to quality and excellence standards in building a modern preventive framework, directing efforts toward developing a national quality systems framework to be designed within the centre, reflecting the specific nature of preventive. President of Customs Shaikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Khalifa headed Bahrain’s delegation to the World Customs Organisation (WCO) Technology Conference and Exhibition 2026, hosted by the United Arab Emirates. He stressed the importance of participating in the conference, noting that it represents a valuable opportunity to review the latest technologies and innovative solutions in customs operations, and to enhance the exchange of expertise and experiences among member states. He emphasised that such participation contributes to the development of customs systems, enhances the efficiency of border security, and facilitates trade in line with international best practices. The conference addressed a number of topics of common interest to member states, most notably securing borders for safe trade, enhancing customs resilience amid global complexities, innovation in X-ray inspection technologies, reimagining risk management, improving customs security through cloud computing, and facilitating digital trade through solutions that enhance operational flow, reduce data gaps, and build more resilient customs administrations. On the sidelines of the conference, the delegation visited the accompanying exhibition, which showcased the latest systems and technologies, including single window systems and advanced innovations in border management, contributing to the simplification of customs procedures and enabling fast and efficient global trade. Al Amn FM will focus on the Coast Guard’s safety role in its regular weekly show. The show features a variety of segments, including “Security This Week,” the “999” segment, and a sketch, a dramatised audio performance addressing security and social issues in an educational format. Other segments include “e-Services” and “Vox Pop,” which captures public opinion on the episode’s main topic. The “Amn FM” radio programme is produced by the General Directorate of Media and Security Culture in cooperation with Bahrain Radio. It airs live every Thursday at 1:30 p.m. on 102.3 FM. The show is presented by Nasreen Ma’roof and Shaikha Al Zayani, and directed by Mahmood Qambar.
