his year, Ramadan arrives amidst circumstances that offer an opportunity to rectify our lives. Life moves faster than we realize or comprehend, much like our experience of the arrival and departure of this blessed month. This is not surprising. Linguistically, Ramadan means «to wait a little, then proceed,» as the verb «ramadha» (to spend a little time) indicates, according to the dictionary «Al-Ma’ani.» This implies that the final moments of life pass quickly, and in these circumstances, we must reflect on the philosophy of life’s journey. This journey compels each of us to examine ourselves, our relationship with God, and our satisfaction with our lifestyle, including its positive and negative aspects, emotions, and reactions. It also requires us to consider our conviction that each of us has a purpose in life, which we must fulfill to the best of our ability, leaving a positive impact before departing. In this month of mercy, forgiveness, and self-reflection, we have a great opportunity to return to God and reassess our relationships with the Lord of the World’s and those around us. You will not find a better opportunity than this to correct your stances and repent. If you have severed ties of kinship, wronged someone, or committed an offense against another, it is important to emphasize that there is no room for discussing who initiated the wrongdoing or compromising one’s dignity or principles. This matter pertains to seeking the pleasure of the Almighty, who instilled mercy in human nature. Therefore, seize this precious opportunity, which will pass in a flash, to rid yourselves of hatred and animosity, erasing them from your lives and practices. Embrace respect, love, and communication, beginning with the most important aspect: maintaining kinship ties and making affection and purity the foundation of your lives. The most beautiful feeling in this life is found in forgiving souls. So do not hesitate to initiate peace, whether there is a personal or professional disagreement. We are a nation of peace and tranquility. These circumstances present an opportunity to rectify the misconceptions and misunderstandings that have unfortunately begun to infiltrate the minds of future generations. This places a double responsibility upon us, as we are obligated to leave a legacy of positivity for our children and cultivate tolerance and forgiveness within them. We will not succeed in this unless we set a good example for them. This is an opportunity to prioritize our own mental well-being and, secondarily, to protect our children from negative influences. It is a duty upon us all, as it ultimately contributes to maintaining our social cohesion. We congratulate you on the blessed month, and may God accept your worship. b i n d a i n a@b a t e l c o . c om . b h Maj. Gen.
