SECURITY is Excellency the Minister of Interior General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa attended the closing ceremony of the joint field security exercise «Arabian Gulf Security 4», hosted by Qatar. Their Highnesses and Excellencies the Ministers of Interior of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states were present. The guests were received by the Qatari Minister of Interior and Commander of the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya), Shaikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. Bahrain organised the first edition of the exercise in 2016, in implementation of the decision of the GCC Interior Ministers. The second exercise was hosted by the United Arab Emirates in 2020, followed by Saudi Arabia in 2022, while Qatar hosted the fourth edition of the drill. His Excellency said the exercise, from its first edition, stems from the far-sighted vision of Their Majesties and Highnesses, the leaders of the GCC states, and in implementation of the decisions of Their Highnesses and Excellencies the Ministers of Interior. He noted that the exercise aims to enhance Gulf security cooperation and coordination, exchange expertise, and promote unity of purpose and a shared destiny. He stressed the importance of raising readiness, unifying concepts, confronting risks, protecting capabilities and achievements, and strengthening regional security and stability. He said that such joint field exercises contribute to raising performance levels, exchanging expertise, efficiently addressing challenges, and advancing the enhancement of strategic capabilities within the framework of cooperation, coordination, and the development of joint field operations.
