Interior Ministry: legal measures will be taken against incitement

BNA:

The Department of Legal Affairs at the Ministry of Interior addressed personal letters to (Abdulla Al-Ghuraifi, Abdul Hussein Al-Sitri, Mohammed Saleh Al-Rubai and Mohammed Sangour), who undersigned a statement dated April 26, 2018, regarding the death penalty which was commuted to life in jail for convicts indicted in the attempted murder of Bahrain Defence Force (BDF) Commander-in-Chief.

The Department of Legal Affairs stated that the call to commute the death penalty and release prisoners is in fact a mere ustilisation of the noble royal gesture to achieve personal political gains and fuel unrest, as well as a covert move to stir the public opinion and distort facts.

The Department of Legal Affairs stressed that, in case such acts are repeated, legal measures would be taken against direct or indirect incitement, which leads to any illegal protests or any other stances which do not serve civil peace or cause a disruption of social security, as a result of the above-mentioned statement.
