Chief of Public Security, Lt-General Tariq Al Hassan, has met with Assistant Commissioner for the US Customs Debbie W. Seguin. Interior Ministry Undersecretary for Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs, Shaikh Hisham bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa and President of Customs, Shaikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Khalifa attended.
The Chief welcomed the official and the accompanying delegation, hailing the cooperation, coordination and exchange of expertise between the two friendly countries. The meeting reviewed customs cooperation and the exchange of information and training. The Chief asserted the importance of Bahrain joining the Global Entry programme to activate an agreement signed in January 2021. It is considered one of the US border protection programmes, and it allows the completion of procedures for approved travellers, in advance, upon their arrival in the United States. The meeting was also attended by the Assistant Chief of Public Security for Operations and Training Affairs, the Assistant Undersecretary for Ports, Search and Follow-Up and the Director of Bahrain International Airport Police.
