Chief of Public Security chairs Bahrain delegation in a meeting in Riyadh

Chief of Public Security Lt-General Tariq Al Hassan has chaired the Bahrain delegation in the first ministerial meeting for law enforcement authorities of member countries of the Islamic Cooperation Organisation in Riyadh. Organised by the Saudi Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha), ministers, officials and experts attended the meeting.

The Chief expressed thanks and appreciation to Saudi Arabia for chairing the 14th session of the Islamic Summit Conference for its leading role in achieving integrity and combating corruption at the various local, regional and international levels.

He highlighted Bahrain's dedication to promoting justice and fighting corruption through various procedures and legislations to enhance integrity and transparency for sustainable development and reform in various sectors. He continued that the Kingdom has endorsed laws to protect public money and the formation of specialised security and administrative authorities, including committees to control spending in ministries and government organisations. These panels set policies and fight violations.  

A supervisory system was implemented to deal with financial violations and fight embezzlement and exploitation of public funds. The Kingdom also carried out many campaigns to enhance awareness of the risks of corruption.

The Chief asserted the dedication of Bahrain to commit to international commitments and agreements and cooperates regionally and internationally in anti-corruption agreements.  

The delegation included the General Director of Anti-Corruption and Economic and Electronic Security, Brigadier Bassim Al Miraj and the Director of Administrative Affairs of the Public Security Presidency, and the Director of Anti-Corruption.
