Chief of Public security Lt-General Tariq Al Hassan chaired the Bahrain delegation in the first ministerial meeting of Anti-Corruption Law Enforcement Agencies of the GCC States in Saudi Arabia. He highlighted corruption's economic, social and security risks, asserting Bahrain’s dedication to reinforcing cooperation among law enforcement authorities in the Gulf region to build capabilities and exchange expertise.
He said the attendees know the global challenges in promoting integrity and fighting corruption. Still, hindrances could be overcome through severe work and supportive strategies to promote integrity frameworks. He continued that the meeting would build a new phase of progress in improving regional anti-corruption cooperation.
Heads of anti-corruption law enforcement agencies in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) attended the meeting that was organised by the Saudi Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority.
The meeting reviewed the contents of the final communiqué issued by the Supreme Council of GCC at its 43rd session, held on December 9, 2022, which affirmed the full and accurate implementation of the vision of Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, to promote joint Gulf action, the strength and cohesion of the GCC and the unity of its members and realising greater coordination, integration and interdependence in all fields in order to achieve the aspirations of the citizens of the GCC member states.
