The Security Research Centre at the Royal Academy of Police organised a panel discussion entitled "The Unified Methodology of Family and Child Protection offices in security directorates: Obstacles and Solutions". The Panel Discussion was held during the period 24-30 January 2023, in the presence of Commander of the Royal Academy of Police and Chairman of the Committee for Unifying the Policies of Family and Child Offices in the Security Directorates Brigadier Fawaz Hasan Al-Hasan, , Assistant Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for Women, Head of the Family and Child Prosecution Office at the Public Prosecution Office, a number of general directors of police directorates, representatives of family and child protection offices in the security directorates and a number of their partners in governmental and civil society institutions concerned with family and child affairs.
This session aims to discuss the obstacles to applying the unified methodology of the family and child protection offices in the security directorates, the challenges they face, the opportunities available to develop them, and the exchange of ideas and visions with the partners of the offices to find appropriate solutions to address them, in order to achieve the optimal application of this methodology through the training programme designed to train and qualify the employees.
On this occasion, the Commandant affirmed that organising such seminar comes within the framework of the directives of His Excellency Interior Minister and the follow-up of Chief of Public Security, to discuss the plans and mechanisms in order to organise the work of the Family and Child Protection Offices in the security directorates under a unified, in addition to strengthening cooperation, coordination and unification of efforts in partnership among all parties concerned with family and child affairs.
The panel discussion included a presentation and discussion of the unified methodology for the work of the family and child protection offices in the security directorates and an indication of the stages of its preparation, the training curriculum and programme for the preparation and qualification of the office workers, in addition to reviewing the internal and external difficulties, obstacles and the challenges that impede the process of applying the unified methodology for the offices and authorities concerned with family and child affairs.
