HH Southern Governor, Shaikh Khalifa bin Ali bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, chaired the second meeting of the Security Committee for the year 2023, where HH Southern Governor affirmed his keenness to implement the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in meeting the needs of citizens and residents in the security field.
During the meeting, HH the Southern Governor, Chairman of the Security Committee, welcomed officers and representatives from the Ministry of Interior and stressed on developing various frameworks of cooperation and joint coordination to consolidate the foundations of security through community and security partnerships, as directed by HE Interior Minister, General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa.
HH The Southern Governor was briefed on the General Directorate of Civil Defense, including statistics and management plans for the current year. In order to enhance safety measures in conjunction with Ramadan. HH the Governor also expressed the Southern Governorate's intention to hold a joint event with the administration within the framework of community partnership, parallel with the International Day of Civil Defense on March.
In addition, HH the Governor reviewed the security efforts made by the General Directorate of Criminal Investigation and Forensic Science, which included comprehensive security statistics, indicating that the governorate is keen to continue cooperation and community partnership in order to ensure raising security and community awareness.
General Directorate of Traffic also briefed the Governor on the plan, coinciding with the approach of the holy month of Ramadan, by intensifying foot and mobile patrols to ensure the flow of traffic in all streets, public facilities, and places of worship in the Southern Governorate.
In addition, HH the Governor reviewed the joint programmes, campaigns, and measures taken by the Southern Governorate Police Directorate. Those programmes contributed to meeting the needs of citizens and residents insisting on maximizing community and security gains.
A visual presentation was made by Nationality, Passports, and Residence Affairs about the campaigns carried out in cooperation and coordination with the security authorities. This presentation included a number of shops and work sites within the southern governorate.
