Customs launches the customs authorization service on the e-government portal website

MOI

Customs Affairs has launched the customs authorisation service on the e-government portal website Bahrain.bh to meet Bahrain Vision 2030 and the eighth sustainable development goal, “decent work and economic growth”, by enabling merchants to authorise customs clearance agencies electronically. The service is part of the directives of Customs Affairs President Shaikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Khalifa to provide e-services. The Director of Information Systems, Amal Bujandal, said the service is available to all holders of valid CRs. The record holder can choose and authorise the customs clearance office to follow up and complete its customs procedures. She explained that this service would reduce the period from applying for the issuance of the customs authorisation, as previously, it required personal attendance to apply. Still, now the merchant can apply within a few minutes through the electronic service. In addition, this service will reduce paperwork and manual processes and enhance data accuracy and related reports.
