Deputy Chief of Public Security, Major-General Dr Shaikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Khalifa received a delegation from the US Senate. Assistant Chief of Public Security for Operations and Training Affairs Brigadier Mohammed Al Haram attended.
The Deputy Chief welcomed the delegation, highlighting the importance of such visits to promote Bahrain’s efforts led by His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. He said Bahrain continues with its civilised approach of coexistence, peace culture and religious freedom.
He also highlighted the directives of His Excellency Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa and his support to promote security capabilities through training, high-tech devices, and openness to the experiences of developed countries.
The delegation was briefed on expanding the Alternative Sanctions and Measures Law and the implementation of the open prison’s programmes, along with efforts to promote community partnership. The delegation members also toured an exhibition held on the sideline of the visit showcasing weapons and explosives confiscated from terrorist groups.
