The Civil Defence launches its first awareness campaign

Coinciding with the celebrations of the Secretariat General of the Arab League on the Arab Day for Disaster Risk Reduction, which falls on March 21 of each year, under the slogan (Prevention, Preparedness, Effective Arab Response and Recovery), and within the keenness of the General Directorate of  Civil Defence to enhance community safety on this occasion, the General Directorate represented by the Public Relations Office launched the first awareness campaign of its kind, which lasted from 19-21 March.

On this subject, Head of Communication and Coordination Branch of the Public Relations and Awareness Office Major Fatima Saad Al-Mujeiren, confirmed that the General Directorate of Civil Defence worked throughout the year through a comprehensive awareness plan that included all members of society in order to achieve the principle of public safety and achieve the desired goal .

She explained that this campaign comes within the activities of the General Directorate of Civil Defence to celebrate the Arab Day for Disaster Reduction, as it targeted some vital sectors in the Kingdom’s governorates, including (public streets, scrap, refueling stations, commercial complexes, factories, schools, hospitals, companies and ministries, in addition to shared accomodations for workers).

This campaign aims to educate and prepare all workers in these sectors in preparation for facing any danger, by focusing on security and safety requirements in these sectors, and raising the level of awareness among workers by publishing educational media messages, on how to take proper measures to reduce disaster risks.
