Coast Guard Commander receives UN Maritime Crime Prevention delegation

Coast Guard Commander Brigadier Jasim Mohammed Al Gatam received a delegation from the Global Maritime Crime Programme of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) for the Middle East and North Africa. 

Coast Guard Commander welcomed the delegation and discussed subjects of mutual concern in maritime security, training and ability building. 

The delegation visited the Maritime Operations Centre, the Maritime Training Wing and “Safra” ship 1, where they were briefed on tasks and duties of the Coast Guard and its role in securing the territorial borders and protecting seafarers.
