Anti-Cyber Crimes Directorate of the General Directorate of Anti-Corruption and Economic and Electronic Security warned on Wednesday of scams that target jobseekers.
The scams are being carried out by individuals abroad pretending to be employees of official companies in Bahrain. They assumed to conduct interviews via the phone and then recruit the jobseekers after taking money from them.
The victims are asked to open bank accounts and register their details and transfer the deposit money to the scammers’ bank accounts outside Bahrain.
The directorate urged citizens and residents to ignore such suspicious bodies and only deal with official recruitment organisations. Scam victims could file cases through the directorate’s hotline 922 for the necessary steps.
