The General Directorate of Traffic registered 6,875 car window tinting violations from the beginning of 2023. Car confiscation and licence withdrawal was the penalty for drivers who repeated the violations.
The directorate highlighted that the allowed tinting is (0/1), representing 30% of shading for all windows except the windshield, in which the rules allow transparent thermal insulation without any tinting.
It called upon drivers to avoid placing sun visors for the safety of all for their risks, especially in the evening for blocking clear visibility.
