Customs Affairs organises a meeting

MOI

The Customs Affairs, in the presence of Customs President Shaikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Khalifa, has held a meeting with its partners to highlight the latest development of the Customs Single Window (OFOQ2).

The Customs Affairs launched the Ofoq Programme in 2011 which objective is to cover all customs border points in the Kingdom, in addition to all import and export processes in 2013 at a rate of 500 customs declarations at customs points.

By virtue of the Ofoq Program, Customs Affairs was able to pool a number of regulatory entities within a unified commercial window of trade to facilitate operations and the movement of goods. The system is characterized by a number of comprehensive units that contribute to facilitating its utilization amongst the competent segments, namely: customs officers, supervisors, customs clearing brokers, regulatory entities, merchants and courier firms.

The meeting highlighted the development phases of OFOQ2, starting from studying the launch in April 2022. The six phases were completed through more than 200 sessions with 15 public and private organisations and 100 sessions with 8 private sector organisations. The meeting highlighted the requirements for the coming phases and the smooth transition from OFOQ1 to OFOQ2.

At the end of the meeting, the President of Customs thanked partners and contributors to the success of the programmes. He highlighted the importance of training and building capabilities.
