Bahrain experts takes part in UN Meeting

Director of the Legal Affairs at the Ministry of Interior Colonel Hussain Salman Matar, presided the delegation of experts from the Kingdom of Bahrain participating in the Qatari visit to review the implementation of the United Nations Convention Against Corruption by the Kingdom of Bhutan, during the period from 6 to 8 June.

 

Colonel Hussain Salman Matar asserted that this participation came after reviewing  the self-assessment list and observations made about the second (preventive measures) and the fifth (asset recovery) chapters of the agreement, indicating that the review mechanism included that each state party reviewed the implementation of two other state parties to the terms of the agreement.

 

Director of the Legal Affairs explained that the verification process included the compatibility of the implementing country's legislation and procedures with the provisions of the agreement, so that the two reviewing countries, with the assistance of the Secretariat of the Conference of the States Parties, prepare a review report that identifies successful experiences.

 

Ambassador Fatima Abdullah Al-Dhaen, Head of the Asian and Pacific Affairs Sector at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Major Mohammed Jassim Al-Khudri, Director of Anti-Corruption at the General Directorate of Anti-Corruption and Economic and Electronic Security and Mr. Ali Abdullah Al-Nuaimi, Representative of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Bahrain to Indi participated.
