Director-General of Verdict Enforcement and Alternative Sentencing, Shaikh Khalid bin Rashid Al Khalifa received two officials from the American Bar Association.
He welcomed the guests, highlighting that the alternative sanctions and the open prisons are part of the reform project of His Excellency Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa. It is also part of the dedication of the government led by His Royal Highness, Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to enhance the implementation of the Alternative Sanctions and Measures Law and the open prisons programme.
He added that the Interior Ministry, per the instructions of His Excellency Interior Minister General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, has been dedicated to implementing the best international standards to promote the criminal justice system and human rights.
The meeting reviewed the General Directorate of Verdict Enforcement and Alternative Sentencing to enforce the law and the rehabilitation and training programmes provided to beneficiaries. Both sides discussed cooperation and coordination in exchanging expertise and training programmes.
The two officials hailed the efforts of the directorate to increase the law’s beneficiaries.
